PROMOTION OF LIFE WEEK
Next edition: November 11 to 13, 2014
This Val-d’Or Native Friendship Centre’s activity was initiated in 2004 from the desire to address issues related to First Peoples’ living conditions. Simple solutions are proposed, using a “small step” approach. Throughout the years, a variety of creative means have been tested. In this 10th edition, the Promotion of Life Week really found its true way with an approach based on culture and traditional teachings. A quality programming meets the aspirations of the urban aboriginal community that demonstrates a deep desire to reconnect with its own identity, such as shown by the exceptionally high number of participants in the many proposed activities. Indeed, the 2014 edition was unprecedently popular with a record attendance of 600 participants.
